A Tamecare bumper ring is a lightweight halo that sits around your dog's head and touches walls, furniture and doorways before your dog does. It helps blind and low-vision dogs, including dogs with cataracts, glaucoma or age-related sight loss, move around the home with more confidence and fewer knocks.

Choose your bumper ring style

Model	Good choice if
Classic	You want a simple everyday halo for indoor use
Reflective	Your dog also walks outside in the early morning or after dark
Adjustable-Angle	You want to fine-tune how far the ring sits in front of your dog's face
Detachable-Ring	You want to remove the ring easily and leave the harness on

Every model is made from lightweight aluminium alloy, padded fabric and durable nylon webbing, and comes in blue or red.

Size guide

Ring diameter	Dog weight
22 cm	4 to 10 kg
23 cm	11 to 18 kg

If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger one for comfort. See the bumper ring size chart for details.

Blind dog bumper ring FAQ

Does a bumper ring prevent blindness?

No. A bumper ring does not treat or prevent sight loss. It protects your dog's face and eyes from bumps while they learn to move around without full vision. Ask your veterinarian about the cause of your dog's sight loss.

How do I get my dog used to the ring?

Introduce it gradually. Start with a few minutes indoors, reward your dog with treats and praise, and build up the time over several days. Check the fit before each use.

Can my dog eat and sleep wearing the ring?

Remove the ring for sleeping and whenever your dog is unsupervised. Many dogs can eat and drink with it on, but take it off at mealtimes if the ring gets in the way.
